The
light and strong composite construction of the S&S
65 Fast Cruiserthe NEB Composites
Team used vacuum-bagged Core-Cell linear foam core, quadraxial
E-glass, and epoxy resinadd up to speed and fuel efficiency.
During sea trials the yacht hit 35 knots, running smoothly and quietly.
The yacht features three cored-fiberglass watertight bulkheads and
one watertight door with window into the engine room; the hull,
deck, superstructure, and all transverse frames and longitudinal
stiffeners are built to exceed ABS (American Bureau of Shipping)
requirements. All wiring, piping, and systems details meet or exceed
ABYC (American Boat and Yacht Council) requirements.
NEB's
in-house Engineering and Mechanical
and Electrical departments worked closely with the S&S design
office and industry suppliers to produce a trustworthy cruising
vessel. NEB's Metalwork and Joinerwork
departments created many custom features on the S&S 65 Fast
Cruisereach one as beautiful as it is functional. We look
forward to following the adventures of this fine yacht!

Sparkman
& Stephens Design No. 2713
Simplicity,
safety, and seaworthiness are the keywords in the design and construction
of this motoryacht. The Owner, a very experienced boatowner, has also
placed high emphasis on the well-organized engine room, straightforward
systems design for easy service access, and the practical, attractively
finished interior with traditional, understated styling.
Twin Caterpillar C30, 1,550-horsepower turbocharged diesels provide
propulsion; a Northern Lights M844LK2 genset powers the yacht's extensive
liveaboard systems. NEB worked with insulation experts to achieve
an exceptionally low level of noise and vibration, even with the main
engines at 1,950 rpm and the generator and air-conditioning in operation. |
